The movie may bomb but the soundtrack is a smash, the title song 'Xanadu' sung by Olivia Newton John and written by Lynne giving ELO their only UK No 1 hit.

Recorded with Lynne for George Harrison's Cloud Nine album, 'I Got My Mind Set On You' gives the ex-Beatle a US No 1 – his first chart topper there since 1973.

The first single to be released by The Traveling Wilburys, the Lynne-produced 'Handle With Care' secures the supergroup a Top 30 hit in the British charts.

Co-written by Lynne, 'You Got It' gives Roy Orbison the chart-leading single from what will be his comeback album, Mystery Girl.

Lynne takes the melody that is the verse on Tom Petty's 'Free Fallin'' and continues it into the chorus. The song goes Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the US.
